Wingmate gave a wrong or misleading answer. What’s going on?
Updated
Wingmate is an AI assistant, and like every AI assistant it can sometimes give answers that are wrong, out of date or more confident than they should be. This is often called “hallucinating”: the answer can read well and still be mistaken.
Why it happens
- Wingmate writes its answers from patterns it learned, not from a fact book, so it can fill gaps with something that sounds right.
- It only sees a summary of your plan (dates, totals and counts), not every detail. If something isn’t in that summary, it can’t know it.
- General wedding advice, like timelines, etiquette and typical costs, varies by place and changes over time.
What to do
- Double-check anything important against your own records: dates, deposits, contract terms, legal requirements such as marriage licences.
- Ask Wingmate to explain how it got an answer, or rephrase your question and use Regenerate.
- Nothing Wingmate drafts is saved until you review it and press Apply, so read each line of a draft first. You can undo card edits.
- For legal, tax or medical questions, use Wingmate for general information only and ask a professional.
